    Understanding DLC Listings: What Actually Matters?

    Anyone comparing commercial LED lighting products will quickly encounter the term "DLC Listed." It may appear on a manufacturer's specification sheet, in a distributor's product description, or among the requirements for a commercial lighting rebate. For building owners and facility managers planning an LED lighting upgrade, seeing a product on the DLC Qualified Products List can provide useful information about its performance. But a DLC listing does not answer every question about a fixture.

    Flat Panel LED Lighting for Commercial Spaces

    Commercial lighting has changed a lot over the past decade. Commercial facilities have increasingly moved away from older fluorescent lighting toward integrated LED solutions. In some buildings, that means replacing older fluorescent flat panel fixtures with new integrated LED flat panels that eliminate routine fluorescent lamp changes. In other applications, an existing fluorescent troffer may be replaced with an LED flat panel as part of a broader lighting upgrade.
